Interior design improves lives . . . a project that’s making a difference!

It was that time of year again.

FLOOR360, one of our vendor partners, was taking nominations for their annual Design For A Difference initiative – where a nonprofit organization is chosen, and a team of volunteers works together to improve the space, provide increased visibility for the organization, and strengthen the community — all while experiencing the joy of giving.

Our nomination? A nonprofit that is close to our heart: ARCh (Association for the Rights of Citizens with handicaps), located in Waukesha, WI.  This disabilities organization offers various support groups and workshops for parents, as well as a variety of client activities, from daily living skills training, social activities from cake decorating to yoga classes;  and the meeting facilities for the Strong Girls Club meetings.

ARCh has been around for a really long time and has made a difference in so many lives, including my son’s. He participated in activities there as a child, and was welcomed with open arms.

This incredible group has had their own building since 2002, but has put all of their funds towards the amazing work they are doing — which left their space somewhat functional, but certainly not inspired, and, extremely outdated!

So, we were absolutely thrilled when we found out that ARCh has been selected as the Design For A Difference recipient! They would be getting a complete makeover of their building, thanks to FLOOR360 and its Design for A Difference volunteers (which includes us and other local professionals).

From office furniture and paint, to flooring, lighting and installation, all of the products and services, including design, are donated.

It’s an honor to give ARCh’s space some love and attention reflective of the care they show to disabled individuals and their families.

Our goal? To add safety, functionality and beauty — and shine a light on this empowering organization. We want to make it brighter, more accessible, and to create a positive vibe for their staff  and beneficiaries alike.

Our volunteer team has been working for months, and the results will be unveiled in May.  I can’t wait to share them with you!
